There were reports in a few sections of the media that Sandhya would soon bid adieu to acting and would enter wedlock, as her parents had zeroed in on a bridegroom for her. But the actress had denied this and said her focus would continue to be on films.
“They are baseless reports. I would like to act in movies at least for the next couple of years and hence, there is no question of entering wedlock. In fact, I have been waiting for a right opportunity in Tamil, as I am bored doing stereotype characters,” she said.
Sandhya, who is popular in Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada industries too, added: “I am indebted a lot to my fans, directors and producers in all these industries. But for their support, I could sure not have made it as an actress. I would like to retire with a good name.”
Sandhya was studying when she starred in the critically acclaimed Tamil love story ‘Kaadhal‘. Initially, this role was offered to actress Gopika, however, due to date problems, this role went on to Sandhya. Thanks to her rising fame, especially after the blockbuster film ‘Dishyum‘, her second Tamil film, she had to discontinue her studies.
